Dear families, This is the end of the first semester in kindergarten! I am so proud of the academic progress this group of students have gain! I wish everybody a safe and restful winter break. Reading shouldn’t be homework, children should read for pleasure. If possible, review phonograms and sight words. Spalding: We reviewed all the phonograms learned! More two letters’ phonograms will be learned next semester. At the end of kindergarten, students must master 70 phonograms. Reading reminders: Your child should read to an adult as daily homework. Practice sight words as daily homework. Assessments on Wednesdays. Minimal goal by the end of second quarter, master 36 sight words. (5 sight words a week), but the sky is the limit!
