What we learn this week! Notes: On Monday, April 8, from approximately 10 am to 1pm, there will be a solar eclipse that can be seen here at Archway Chandler. The peak viewing time is around 11:20-11:40 am. For safety reasons, our schedule will be slightly modified during that time window. Students will remain inside for morning recess, as prolonged viewing of the eclipse without proper safety equipment can damage eyesight. The PSO has graciously supplied Archway Chandler with disposable glasses rated for viewing a solar eclipse. 2nd-5th grades will have the opportunity to view the eclipse in rotation. Please note, students must have a signed permission slip in order to participate. The permission slip will be sent home on Thursday, April 4th and is due by Monday, April 8th at 8:30 am. If a student wishes to bring a pair of eclipse sunglasses from home, they must be rated ISO 12312-2 certified. Regular sunglasses are not acceptable. As an extra precaution, Kindergarten and 1st grade

It will be important for you to help your Kindergartner focus on doing quality homework in Spalding every night. Students often remember the spelling of the previous spelling words or how to spell the current word lists, but  it takes practice and consistent review  to understand the 'why' of the markings so that those markings move from short term memory to long term memory. The Cumulative Phonogram test over 55 phonograms will be in the last week of April. The cumulative Spelling test will start the first week of May and it will be 10 words a day for 10 days - 100 words. One day at a time, one word at a time. This is easily doable!  Mrs. Bernal What we learn this week! Notes: Spalding:  Students reviewed all the phonograms learned in kindergarten in preparation for the cumulative test oral and written by the end of April. Also, for fou
