  Dear families, We still have spots for the supplies for the Thanksgiving Feast. Spalding:   Two letter phonograms OU, IR, OY, were introduced. Remember to underline the two letter phonograms. This marking states that these are two letter phonograms making one sound. We reviewed QU and B from the previous first 26 phonograms. Students used their pink notebook to write their new spelling words/sight words ( no, now, man, ten ). At the end of the second quarter, students will perform a cumulative test for all the phonograms, 26 single letter phonograms, plus all the two letters’ phonograms taught during the quarter. Reading reminders: Your child should read to an adult as daily homework. Practice sight word

  Dear families, The weather feels like fall now! The students are progressing accordingly with their academics and reading. Make sure your child eats and sleeps well to avoid illnesses. This is the season they can catch colds. Exciting learning will happen in the classroom, and we do not want them to miss it. Students need to read daily at home for 20 minutes. Practice makes better! The highlight of the week was our Classical Character Day! Students enjoyed all the fun activities and talking about why they choose their character.   Dear families, We are finishing October! This quarter will be busy with activities and academic learning. Character day is next week on Wednesday! Thank you to all the volunteers that helped us with reading and our Thursday Push and Pulls activity. Thank you, Mrs. Bernal What we learn this week! Spalding:   Two letter phonograms OW, CH, AR were introduced. Remember to underline the two letter phonograms. This marking states that these are two letter phonograms making one sound. We reviewed D and F from the previous first 26 phonograms. Students used their pink notebook to write their new spelling words/sight words ( a, it, is, she ). Reading:   Your child should read to an adult as daily homework, along with practicing the sight words. Remember students should read the whole word unless they are not sure about the word, ask your child to use their phonograms to sound out each letter to figure out the word.   Dear families, As the fall season settles in, we are excited to explore all the wonderful things it brings with your little ones! From the colorful leaves to the crisp air, this time of year offers endless opportunities for discovery and fun. We will be engaging in creative activities like pumpkin study, Thanksgiving activities, and storybooks about fall to help students appreciate the changes around them.   Dear families, Welcome back! It was wonderful to meet with you at the parent-teacher conferences. Thank you for attending! I hope you had a well-deserved and restful break. Students are fresh and energized to start a new quarter! They are ready for the next chapter and all the academic challenges we will encounter! We are always persevering and trying our best effort. With appreciation, Mrs. Bernal What we learn this week! Spalding:  Coming back from fall break, students reviewed all 26 phonograms learned in the first quarter. We reviewed the proper strokes for their best Spalding handwriting. For the first time, students used their Spalding Pink Notebook! Students were so excited about the new challenge! The purpose of this notebook is to write their spelling words learned for the week ( me, do, and ). The Spalding process is very rigorous on learning how to spell, read, and write the words using the learned phonograms and Spalding rules. At all times, students need to write with ne

Dear families, Children have a natural curiosity and want to know more about everything. Is our job to keep their curiosity and nurture lifelong learners. Take the time to read fiction and non-fiction books to your child. Explore nature and spend time outdoors. Reflect about situations and how to learn from every experience.   Dear families, It is a joy for me to come to work every day! It is a pleasure to work with happy and healthy children! They are energetic and curious about everything we talk about in class!
