Week 2 Q3

Dear families, Thank you to all the families that donated supplies for the Squanto cooking project! For the second semester, these kindergarteners will work hard to finish with strong foundations for first grade. It is very important to continue all the routines in place for them to be successful in their academic progress. Perseverance virtue will be practiced all semester. Sincerely, Mrs. Bernal What we learn this week! Spalding:  We introduced the phonograms IGH, ED, WR. Students used their pink notebook to write their new spelling words/sight words ( chance, charge, little, are ). Reading reminders: Your child should read to an adult as daily homework. Practice sight words as daily homework. Assessments on Wednesdays. Minimal goal by the end of third quarter, master 68 sight words. (5 sight words a week), but the sky is the limit!   Dear families, Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope everyone is recharged and ready to start our second semester. The Arctic/Antarctic animal presentations went well. Students were very excited about presenting and watching their peers present. This is probably their first time presenting in front of an audience. Throughout their elementary school years, students will have more opportunities to present and gain presentations skills. Thank you for your support on this project, Mrs. Bernal What we learn this week! Spalding:  We reviewed all the phonograms learned last semester! Students used their pink notebook to write their new spelling words/sight words ( good, time, have, blue ). Two letters’ phonograms will be learned next week.
